New in 2018: Flash Seats
Good news everyone! We’re continuing to make improvements to our ticketing and entry processes for 2018 in order to provide you with the best experience possible. One of those improvements is the use of a service and mobile app that you may already be using called Flash Seats.
If you haven’t already, visit the Flash Seats website or download the mobile app (iOS and Android) and create an account. Be sure to use the same email address you use for your AXS account when you purchase your tickets, as this will “link” the two systems and allow them to communicate .
If you’ve already purchased tickets, they will begin to appear in your Flash Seats account starting in May 2018.
On the day of your visit to the con (or on the early badge pickup day), simply approach a Denver Comic Con ticketing representative at one of the convention center entry points (they will be wearing special shirts), pull up the QR code on the Flash Seats app, and the representative will hand you your badges. If you don’t have the app, no problem, just show a representative your photo ID or the credit card you used to make the purchase.
My Tickets Have Not Appeared in My Flash Seats Account Yet — Should I Be Worried?
Tickets will begin appearing in users’ Flash Seats account starting in early May. Tickets are issued in waves, so not all tickets will appear in all users’ accounts on the same day or at the same time. If you know someone who has already receive tickets in their account, but yours have not arrived, please be patient and yours should arrive soon. If you have not received tickets in your Flash Seats account by May 18, 2018, please send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and the ticketing team will assist you.
What are Flash Seats?
Flash Seats is an ID-based digital ticketing system available through AXS that allows you to enter an event with any form of convenient digital ID, such as a credit card or a Mobile ID through the Flash Seats mobile app. This concept, similar to the e-ticket in the airline industry, allows you to manage your tickets via the Internet. It also gives you the ability to sell, buy, and transfer seats through a marketplace endorsed by your team or venue. If you’d like to learn more, here is the Flash Seats FAQ.
If I’ve Never Used Flash Seats Before, Do I Need to Sign-Up for a New Account?
Yes, if you have not previously created a Flash Seats account, you will need to download the mobile app (iOS or Android) and create a new user account. You can also create an account on the Flash Seats website at www.flashseats.com.
Why the Change?
We made the change because we heard how you wanted a quicker and more streamlined process at entry, and we believe this will make things simpler and considerably faster. We also understand your stress when your badge doesn’t arrive in the mail on time or you need an address change or you forgot your badge at home. Flash Seats should help to solve a number of issues that have arisen in previous years.
Why Can’t I Select the Mailing Option Anymore?
This year, there will not be a mailing option. Instead, everyone will be using Flash Seats. The idea is to cut down on the issues around mailing – things like address changes, and badges getting lost in the mail or never arriving. We also plan for this to significantly streamline entry by creating a system that works equally for everyone.
Will I Still Get a Badge?
Yes, you will receive your badge when you check-in at the conference entrance using the Flash Seats mobile app, or your photo ID, or with the credit card you used to purchase your ticket(s).
What About Speed Pass Holders? Do They Use Flash Seats, Too?
Yes, Speed Pass holders will use Flash Seats, too. Onsite at the convention, there will be a dedicated line where Speed Pass holders will be able to redeem their badges during certain hours. Additional details about this will be available closer to con.
What Exactly Is the Process for Getting My Badge and Getting Into the Con?
Starting in 2018, the most convenient way to get your badge is to download the Flash Seats mobile app onto your mobile phone and log in using your Flash Seats account credentials. 1-2 months before the convention start, your ticket will automatically appear in the Flash Seats app. On the day of your first con visit — or during the pre-con badge pickup dates/times — walk up to a DCC ticketing representative (who will be wearing a clearly marked shirt), open your app, and display the QR code for your ticket. The DCC representative will scan the QR code and hand you your badge(s). If you don’t have your phone with you, no worries, just present your photo ID or the credit card you used to buy the tickets, and the DCC representative will be able to look up your record and provide you with your badge(s).
Will There be a Pre-Con Pickup Day/Time This Year?
Yes. More details on this year’s pre-con badge pickup will be posted prior to the convention.
Do I Have to Use the Flash Seats Mobile App to Get My Badge?
No. Using the Flash Seats mobile app is the fastest and most convenient way to exchange your ticket(s) for your badge(s). However, if you don’t have your phone with you, no worries, just present your photo ID or the credit card you used to buy the tickets, and the DCC representative will be able to look up your record and provide you with your badge(s).
Are My AXS and Flash Seats Username and Password the Same?
No, your log-in credentials for your Flash Seats account are separate from your AXS log-in credentials.
Can I Pick Up Badges for My Entire Group When I Pick Up My Own?
Yes, in fact, you MUST pick up all badges for your group if you purchased their tickets in the same order as your own. You simply follow the same process for picking up your own badge and the DCC Ticketing Representative will provide you with all badges you purchased. If you are unable to pick up badges for others in your party, you can transfer the digital Flash Seat ticket(s) from your account to their Flash Seats account. Then they will be able to pick up their own badge(s) at their convenience by following the same pickup process outlined above with their Flash Seats account.
Do I Have to Pick Up All of the Badges I Ordered with My Own Badge, or Can Each Person Pick Their Badge Up Separately?
Yes. You MUST pick up all badges for your group if you purchased their tickets in the same order as your own. You simply follow the same process for picking up your own badge and the DCC Ticketing Representative will provide you with all badges you purchased. To be clear, if you bought tickets using your account for other people, those people cannot pick up their tickets, only you can.
Can I Only Pick Up Some of the Badges I Ordered and Then Come Back Later for the Others?
No, you must pick up all the badges for your group at the same time.
