Staying Overnight? It’s Tough to Beat a DCC Partner Hotel.
If you’ve been following our social media channels, you may have noticed that we officially unveiled our list of the 2018 DCC Partner Hotels today. Many of you have been asking for the list, so we’re super excited to be able to share it with you!
Are you new to the con and not sure what a partner hotel is or why it matters? Not to worry. In this post we explain what they are, and spotlight some of the biggest reasons why they are usually the best choice if you’re attending the con for multiple days.
What’s a “Partner Hotel”?
These are a list of hotels in downtown Denver and nearby, hand-picked by the DCC Convention Director each year for their high level of quality and close proximity to the convention center. We work to provide a wide range of hotel styles and choices for just about every budget.
We have negotiated with each of these hotels to reserve a block of rooms, dedicated for DCC attendees, at special lower room rates available only during the dates of the convention. We have also negotiated amenities at each, often including wi-fi, and sometimes free breakfast or parking. It’s good to shop.
If after reading this, you decide a partner hotel is right for you, remember that you MUST start the booking process by going to the Hotels page on our website first, located at the link below.

When you click on one of the partner hotels listed, it will take you to a unique page on the hotel’s website that provides the special negotiated room rates for the con weekend (more on that below), along with any other perks they are offering con attendees.
Short Walks (or Rides) to the Convention Center
Each year we work hard to find and partner with hotels that offer a combination of rooms, combined with close proximity to the Denver Convention Center. Some of the hotels a little further away, like Cherry Creek, offer big savings like free parking, and are a short Lyft ride away from the Convention Center.
This means that in most cases you’ll only be staying a few blocks away — and in a few cases, only a few hundred yards away — from the convention entrance. And if you’re not, you’re still in public transit or Lyft distance.
Since the con takes place in the summer, the weather is often sunny and warm, so you get an easier walk from your hotel to the convention center, eliminating the need for a car, making your whole stay easier and more convenient.
More Fun After Hours
This one is a bit harder to explain if you haven’t been to a con before, but by staying at a partner hotel you also have a higher chance of keeping the fun going even after you leave the convention center.
One big reason is that you have a much higher chance of running into other people who — just like you — are in the city primarily to attend the con.
People who stay in partner hotels often tell us they had a better, more immersive overall experience, because they had many more opportunities to bond with fellow fans, grab a drink with friends they met at the con during the day, and/or meet new friends with shared interests.
In the Middle of the Action
Also, remember that there are dozens of unique nighttime events happening downtown that only occur once per year during con weekend. Many are officially hosted by DCC and our partners, but many others are independently produced.
With so many people downtown just for the con, most of these special events happen within blocks of the convention center, so by staying in a partner hotel you have the best chance of being right in the middle of the action.
Rather stay in and have fun with the kiddos? Many of our partner hotels have special amenities just for families, including swimming pools, hot tubs, and recreation rooms.
Kind of a No-Brainer
Bottom line, if you’re planning to stay overnight, partner hotels are usually going to be your best bet. They are great hotels, with lower prices, close to the con and nighttime events, giving you more value and a better overall experience.
The real question might be, why stay anywhere else?
But, remember, partner hotels do sell out, so be sure to check out more information on our hotels page ASAP and book early to get the best properties and packages.
As always if you have more questions or would like to suggest a topic for us to cover, feel free to write them in the comments below, post them on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter pages, or send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you at the con!
